Encompassing 1,400 acres of scenic woodlands, Palm-Aire Country Club is one of the largest clubs in the Sarasota area. Two legendary 18-hole golf courses, superb tennis facilities, a Junior Olympic-sized swimming pool, a fitness center and an elegant clubhouse all serve to make Palm-Aire Country Club stand out as a premier member-owned golfing and tennis community.
Golf
The Championship Course was designed by world-renowned Dick Wilson in 1958. Gene Sarazen called it “one of the four greatest golf courses in the world.” Sam Snead, Arnold Palmer, Ken Venturi and Gary Player number among the notable PGA golfers to play the course. The first nationally televised golf program, “Shell’s Wonderful World of Golf” was broadcast from here.
The Lakes Course was completed in 1982 and was designed by famed architect Joe Lee. Palm-Aire became the first private club to offer 36 holes of golf. At The Lakes formal opening gala Lee aced the 17th hole using a 4-iron.
Tennis
A total of eight championship Har-Tru courts, including six which are lighted, highlight the superb tennis facility. Two all-weather courts and a large practice wall round out the tennis ammenities. Chris Evert and Yvonne Gooligong are just two of the celebrity tennis players to grace our courts.
Social and Fitness
The beautiful Spanish-style clubhouse is the perfect venue for any social occasion. Both casual and formal dining is available with cuisine provided by our award winning gourmet chef. We also have a lounge, patio and meeting rooms and members have their own library/activities center. We offer various social programs, from line-dancing lessons to high tea.
A fully-equipped fitness center is available along with a Junior Olympic-Sized pool. Whether you just want to soak up the sun or do a complete physical work-out, Palm-Aire Country Club is the place to be.
Visitors to the Palm Aire Sarasota area are always astounded by the number and quality of restaurants that are nearby. Within blocks you can find the Stonewood Grill & Tavern, Outback Steakhouse, Carrabas Italian Grill and Bonefish Grill. If you drive for just 20 to 30 minutes you can sample the fare at Ruth Chris Steakhouse, Colony Beach or Anna Maria Oyster Bar. Or you could choose to dine with a beautiful view of the gulf at Marina Jack.
Palm Aire is the perfect starting point to visit one of the many beaches in the area. Siesta Beach has been named one of the world's best beaches by the Travel Channel for two years in a row. About 20 minutes away, North Lido Beach is a pristine half-mile stretch of sand and very private.
